Fairfax Distillers and Chocolatiers

Our story began here in Colton in 2004, a small country Inn, famed for being the first pub in York to serve food back in the day…………… all in baskets!

Time moves one, tastes change, and people’s habits change. In 2021 during the covid outbreak with the uncertainty of how the hospitality industry would bounce back, we began ‘Fairfax Distillery’, initially distilling at premises away from Colton just to test the water so to speak….. Wow, we were blown away by the response and take up of our new venture.

So, in 2022 we moved the distillery into one of the public rooms within the Sun and we were renamed ‘Ye Old Sun Inn, The home of Fairfax Distillery’…. we may look like a traditional pub from the outside but we can obviously offer far more.

The demands of the distillery have resulted in closing the pub recently to casual customers but it has given the building a lifeline that would have seen it potentially close and disappear altogether. We host a number of events throughout the year from Fairfax Spirit Blending Sessions to lavish Dinners.

The order can be delivered anywhere in the UK, not just to Selby addresses.
