  • The Case of the Missing Bunny at Selby Library

It’s one thing going on an egg hunt but quite another going on an Easter Bunny hunt! Join us at Mother GOOSE detective agency to go on a case like no other. This is an eggs-tremely serious situation . . . it’s no yolk . . . we must crack it . . . we shell crack it!  In typical Story Craft Theatre style, this show brings together puppetry, problem-solving and game playing like no other. Our aim? To get everyone working together to solve the missing bunny dilemma.  Taking place at Selby Library on Wednesday 27th March at 3pm and costs £3 per person – for children aged between 2 and 8.

 

  • Arts and Crafts at the Wishing Well

Unleash your child’s creativity with our Easter Arts & Crafts event on 27th March at 12 noon! Choose between making Easter wreaths or crafting paper bunnies. A perfect opportunity for kids to get crafty and make some festive decorations.   Event costs £3 per per child.

  • Eat your way through Easter

Treat the whole family to a bunny-approved Easter weekend at The Drovers Arms in Skipwith – they have great menus for you to enjoy from Good Friday until Easter Monday.  With various choices available across the weekend there is sure to be plenty to suit all tastes.

  • Sherburn and Villages Community Library Easter Event

  • Easter Sunday Lunch at Carlton Towers

Celebrate Easter with the family at Carlton Towers for a scrumptious Sunday Lunch.  Their talented chefs will lovingly prepare a three-course lunch from locally sourced Yorkshire produce, while you sit back, relax and enjoy Easter Sunday with your family gathered around you.  Tables available from 1pm and all children receive a small Easter gift!

  • Kinsmen Activity Centre

Get the Teenagers away from their phones this Easter and head on down to the new Kinsmen Activity Centre for a completely different day out, with – Axe Throwing, Archery, Air Rifle Range and more! Must be pre-booked.

 

  • Easter Mad Hatters Tea Party

Birkin Tea Rooms and The Ice Cream Shed present the magic of Alice In Wonderland this Easter at their Mad Hatter’s Afternoon Tea party experience. You’ll meet Alice, The White Rabbit, be entertained by the extremely talented @fairytaleencounters & indulge in one of our whimsical sweet and savoury themed Afternoon Teas. The event will take place in their Wonderland on Monday the 25th & Tuesday the 26th of March from 11:00am- 1:00pm. Mad Hatter’s Afternoon Tea £25.00pp, Little Hatter’s Afternoon Tea £30.00pp, Little Hatter’s under 1 years old are free of charge. Also included is their character dining where you’ll work out which Wonderland Character you are! There’ll be Easter Crafting, a Scavenger Hunt, interactive themed games, Evil Queen Croquet & lots of photo opportunities.  Please note this is a private event & anyone attending will require a ticket.   • Alpaca Trekking and Easter Lambs

Give the kids an experience they’ll never forget at Elmet Alpacas and Tearoom. Spring has definitely arrived with lambs, chicks, alpacas, goats, sheep waiting to meet you. Trek with the alpacas, meet all the new-borns, enjoy fresh homemade baking and, if your visit coincides with feeding time, you might even be able to bottle feed the lambs. Booking is essential.

  • Easter Monday Fair at Selby Abbey

Visit the magnificent Selby Abbey this Easter and awe at the amazing architecture and history.  They are holding an Easter fair with refreshments so what better way to learn more about this fantastic building than to visit over the Easter weekend?!

  • Easter Extravaganza

Join them at Market Cross this Easter for a egg-citing day out! Between 11am – 2pm on 30th March, you have the opportunity to meet the Easter bunny who will be giving out high fives, hugs and more! Make sure you grab a photo with him before he burrows away for another year.  Get involved and enjoy free face painting & a Easter Scavenger hunt with prizes to be won! Cray Bakes will be having a pop up with freshly bakes goodies for you to all enjoy!

 

  • Easter Egg Hunt Event

Drop in to Selby North Children’s Centre for some fun and prizes for their FREE Easter egg hunt on Wednesday 27th March.

  • Selby District’s Green Spaces

Enjoy the outdoors and the many green spaces of the Selby District. Complete one of the waymarked trails at Skipwith Common, spot herons and kingfishers at Barlow Common Nature Reserve, enjoy some pond dipping at Fairburn Ings, or simply take in the beauty of the viaduct and weir, as you wander along Tadcaster’s Riverside.

  • Flying Fun at the Heart of Yorkshire

With thermals unique to our area and large expanses of arable land, one of the best ways to see the area is from the air, as you fly from Sherburn, Church Fenton – or glide from Burn. Or, if you prefer, you can enjoy watching the flying action from the ground! Families are welcome to visit Sherburn Airfield to watch the aircraft from the viewing garden, let the kids play on the playground & have a bite to eat in the café. The Digby’s Café Diner is Sherburn Aero Club’s café, restaurant and bar situated inside the main clubhouse with panoramic views of the airfield.

There’s plenty of flying action for you to see at Leeds East Airport too and the family friendly Fenton Café serves delicious homemade dishes, with fantastic flying murals inside – and a large outside deck, perfect for viewing all the action of the airfield on a sunny day.
