Flying Fun at the Heart of Yorkshire
With thermals unique to our area and large expanses of arable land, one of the best ways to see the area is from the air, as you fly from Sherburn, Church Fenton – or glide from Burn. Or, if you prefer, you can enjoy watching the flying action from the ground! Families are welcome to visit Sherburn Airfield to watch the aircraft from the viewing garden, let the kids play on the playground & have a bite to eat in the café. The Digby’s Café Diner is Sherburn Aero Club’s café, restaurant and bar situated inside the main clubhouse with panoramic views of the airfield.
There’s plenty of flying action for you to see at Leeds East Airport too and the family friendly Fenton Café serves delicious homemade dishes, with fantastic flying murals inside – and a large outside deck, perfect for viewing all the action of the airfield on a sunny day.
** We extend a warm welcome to both residents and visitors right at the Heart of Yorkshire. Check out our What’s On pages and Food and Drink pages for full listings**
