Christmas Shopping

You can find an array of local independent shops in each of our local towns, including a family owned department store in Selby, delicatessens in Tadcaster and award winning butchers in Sherburn in Elmet.

You’ll also find clothing boutiques, gift shops, cheese shop, bakers, farm shops, green grocers, local breweries and much more.

The Christmas markets and fairs that fill our villages and town centres are sure to get you in a festive mood and provide you with lots of inspiration for your Christmas shopping. They're packed with local crafts, delicious Christmas treats and gifts, all wrapped up with a lovely Christmas spirit.

Selby Town Council's Christmas Lights will be switched on, at 4pm on Saturday 30th November 2024. It's also the day of Selby Abbey's Christmas Fair, so you can make a wonderful Christmassy day of it!

Sunday 1st December 2024 is when the Tadcaster Christmas Market and Festival will be happening, with unique and original Christmas gifts available from the outdoor market, and lots of activities taking place at The Riley Smith Hall, St Mary's, Tadcaster Methodist and The Barn. From 9am until 3.30pm.
