Important Information

If you have a local event that you would like to promote for free on this website, please complete all sections of the form. The event must be relevant to people visiting or living in the Selby region, so only events with wide appeal, which are located within this region, can be included.

What type of events can be listed on this site?

Larger events such as music concerts, shows, festivals, village fetes, street markets, and large cultural or sporting events which are likely to engage the wider community and appeal to people visiting the region are all welcome.

What about smaller events?

Because Explore Heart of Yorkshire is a visitor economy focused site, small events, such as jumble sales, small sporting events and coffee mornings are deemed not to be suitable for this platform and will not ordinarily be approved. Approval of events is at the sole discretion of Explore Heart of Yorkshire and we reserve the right to refuse any submission we feel is unsuitable.

What happens next?

The event information will need to be checked and approved by our Tourism Development Officer and will appear online, once this has been done. Please allow a few days for your event to be approved.

Should I include an image with my listing?

Yes please. All events need images before they can be listed. You can provide up to five images in ‘jpg’ format. Please include the file names for your images, along with any image captions and credits.
