Tadcaster Artisan Market – on The Cobbles!

The historic market town of Tadcaster has a long history, initially as a small settlement, serving as a resting place for travellers and a staging post on the London to York road. The town’s market was initiated when Henry de Percy obtained a Charter from King Henry III in 1270, and was originally held at the junction of Kirkgate and Bridge Street – Market Place.
And, this is where you’ll find the Tadcaster Artisan Market – on The Cobbles – on the first Friday of every month, between February and November.

Little Bird Artisan Market, in association with TEMPT bring you a fine selection of foods, crafts and goods from local and regional suppliers. There is something for everyone, with stalls selling a wide variety of goods, from organic skincare, beeswax candles, flavoured cheese and preserves, through to handmade crafts, speciality food, alcoholic drinks, homeware and clothing. The markets are designed to offer visitors a diverse range of stalls and a chance to meet the people who make the products.

Tadcaster is a delightful market town surrounded by beautiful North Yorkshire countryside. With a fantastic array of cosy pubs selling fine ales and three historic breweries, including the oldest brewery in Yorkshire, it’s the perfect place to stop off for a relaxing shop at the ‘First Friday’ artisan market on The Cobbles.
