Learn about wildflower meadows and their importance in a changing world on this course led by renowned ecologist Prof. Alastair Fitter

Opening Hours

10:00 - 12:00

Renowned ecologist, Professor Alastair Fitter, will be at Stillingfleet Lodge Gardens to talk about meadows and their importance in a changing world. He is a leading expert on grasses, his published work includes the Collins Guide to the Grasses, Sedges, Rushes and Ferns of  Great Britain.

On this informal workshop/talk you will find out about the difference between an annual wildflower patch and the much more sustainable perennial meadow, using our meadow as an example. With his vast knowledge about grassland ecosystems and soil structure you are sure to go away with plenty of information to help you grow your own meadow at home or appreciate the surviving wildflower meadows.
