Four pints of beer lined up on the bar at The Doghouse Selby

Pubs & Bars at the Heart of Yorkshire

Brewing is at the heart of what we do and an intrinsic part of our heritage!

With a fantastic array of cosy pubs selling fine ales and three historic breweries, including Samuel Smith’s Old Brewery, the oldest brewery in Yorkshire, Tadcaster is the perfect place to stop off for a relaxing few hours. Whilst you’re there, you may even see the Shire horse and cart making one of its regular beer deliveries to the town’s pubs.

The craft beer scene is becoming ever popular too. We’re also home to two fantastic and innovative microbreweries; Little Black Dog Beer Company in Carlton and Jolly Sailor Brewery in Selby.

With over 70 villages across the region, you never have to travel far to find a pub or inn that’s offering a warm welcome with real fires, fine ales and homemade, locally sourced food.
