Based in Carlton, just outside Selby, the wonderful Carlton Towers have hosted incredible summer weddings in their Walled Garden Vineyard and magical winter weddings in their state rooms.  Providing a venue for any size of celebration, the house, vineyard and gardens really do provide a venue that has something for everybody.

The Dovecote Barns

The Dovecote Barns, multi-award winning sustainable green business in Kelfield near Selby, can offer couples an exclusive special intimate wedding celebration in a beautiful rustic venue with fully licenced bar.

Although you cannot get ‘officially married’ there, you can have a humanist celebrant wedding ceremony and reception with closest friends and relations.  The Long Hall is the name of the venue where up to 56 guests can be seated for the celebratory dinner and there is room for dancing and live music.

The Dovecote Barns can provide accommodation for visiting relations or friends in their four Visit England five-star holiday barns for up to 22 guests across 11 ensuite bedrooms.

Hornington Manor 

Hornington Manor is a unique barn wedding venue in Bolton Percy, North Yorkshire. The Grade II listed Manor House is set within the grounds of a working farm, the venue offers picture-perfect spaces for up to 150 guests, including accommodation onsite for 60 friends and family.

Hazlewood Castle

Selby Town Hall

Did you know that Selby Town Hall is licensed for wedding ceremonies? Built as a Methodist chapel in 1862, the intimate venue is the perfect backdrop for you to create a unique, elegant and unforgettable day for you, your family and your friends. They have a dedicated wedding team to advise and guide you from the moment you book your wedding, until you leave as a married couple.

Whether you are wanting to hold your ceremony, reception, or both – Selby Town Hall have spaces to cater to whatever you need.

Camblesforth Hall and Grange

As well as the beautifully restored barns, the courtyard and grounds can accommodate almost anything. So, whether you are looking for a rustic theme, minimalist elegance, a fun fair or a festival vibe, the space at Camblesforth Hall and Grange can be transformed into just about anything!

Not only that but the secluded, private Walled Garden can be exclusively yours for the day after your wedding to extend your celebrations with family and friends enjoying the heated outdoor pool, having a game of tennis and enjoying a BBQ.

Escrick Park Estate

Escrick Park is a venue that will help your day to run just the way you always planned!  Ideal for any bride or groom wishing to shape their day, their way without tiresome restrictions and to give your guests a unique experience they will never forget. The outdoor woodland wedding area is a short walk from this site and perfect for your marriage vows. Set in a naturally created area underneath the boughs of 18th century oaks.

Thicket Priory

A romantic and ethereal country house, set in 18 acres of idyllic grounds and surrounded by a world class nature reserve, every wedding hosted at Thicket Priory is unique. The bespoke hire includes totally exclusive use of the grounds and house, with 35 en-suite bedrooms, capable of accommodating up to 72 guests. River Mills Ballroom

Known as the most unconventional wedding venue in town, River Mills Ballroom is perfect if you are looking for something a little different.  Originally a working mill dating from 1865, converted to a ballroom, roller disco and nightclub over the years, its original features have been lovingly restored and has a beautiful blend of ballroom glitz mixed with industrial features.  They are keen to ensure that your wedding will be as unique as your dreams.

Bert’s Barrow

With three rustic barns available for your wedding, Bert’s Barrow in Hillam offers a fabulous place to celebrate your special day in whichever style you wish in a countryside setting.  Seating up to 300 for the evening celebration with use of the paddock and courtyard too.

Selby Registration Office, Civic Centre

Situated in a bright and modern building, there is one room seating up to 100 guests. There is a large entrance hall where your guests can meet before the ceremony, with an adjacent café available most days. There are photo opportunities in the grounds after the ceremony – do feel free to throw your bio-degradable confetti in the grounds.

Squires Café bar

Squires Café Bar was originally known as ‘Squires Milk Bar’ when it first opened back in 1954. Situated in the small town of Sherburn in Elmet in North Yorkshire it quickly became a popular destination for motorcyclists, with many coming from all over Yorkshire, the North of England and all parts of the UK.  Whether you are having a small wedding of up to 50 guests or a massive wedding for up to 400 guests, Squires can provide a complete package for you as the function room is in two parts which can expand to cope with guest numbers. Their in-house catering department can cope with anything you wish to provide for your guests.

The Owl at Hambleton

The Owl Hotel in Hambleton — a converted manor house incorporating 22 high-quality en-suite bedrooms which also has a function room licensed to hold civil ceremonies, making them a great venue for your wedding day.

The Normans

The Normans takes its name from Normans Farm, a beautiful 18th-century working farm on which the venue is set. The farm has been in the family for three generations. But The Normans isn’t just ‘another barn venue’. They have re-vamped and re-imagined the original farm buildings and fold yard, combining rustic charm with slick contemporary features to create a stylish and stunning space that is purpose-built for weddings.

Woolas Barn

Woolas Barn is a unique rural wedding venue, made up of three lovingly restored buildings, originally built in 1863. But Woolas Barn isn’t just a wedding venue, it’s still a fully working farm. Blending rustic character with modern details, the venue is comprised of four seamlessly linked areas – the Stables, the Courtyard, the Granary and the Lambing Shed.

Selby Abbey

No list of wedding venues in the Selby region would be complete without the majestic Selby Abbey being featured!
