1.Get theatrical at the Legends of the Castle musical theatre, Hazelwood Castle.
Discover this new production, performed in the castle’s atmospheric woodland amphitheatre. The whole family will love the tales from the medieval strolling actors who enact folklore fables from times gone by.
2. Make friends with a Wonkey Donkey in Knottingley.
Animal lovers will adore the chance to see the gorgeous rescue donkeys on the farm. This non profit organisation rescues poorly and mistreated donkeys. Join a guided tour to meet your new four legged friends or take a well earned break in the cafe.
3. Try skateboarding at Tadcaster Barn
Learn new skills at the SkateBarn, part of this amazing community facility for Tadcaster residents and those from surrounding villages. You’ll find ramps, rails, boards, BMXs, scooters and more. Plus a wealth of special events throughout the year including roller skating.
4. Test your feet with a game of foot golf at Scalm Park.
Well, it’s like golf but using a football and it’s great fun for the whole family. In fact, it’s so much fun you won’t even realise your getting fit at the same time. We’d love to see your photos of the action!
5. Feast on an ice cream at the Ice Cream Shed.
This fabulous addition to the Birkin Fisheries Tearoom is packed with tempting tasty treats. But the big question is, how many toppings will you choose!?!
6. Have a go at paintballing with Yorkshire Paintball
Discover one of the oldest paintballing courses in the UK, with special events for youngsters. Try your hand at Airsoft, Knife and Axe throwing and Battle Zone Archery (for players over 12 years),
7. Breathe in nature at one of Selby District’s fabulous outdoor spaces and nature reserves. You can find our pick of the best spots on our nature and wildlife trail.
