Presbytery Guest House
Christine and Chris have lived locally from birth, so we are truly Yorkshire born and bred!
We started the guest house in 2004 after renovating the house and gardens we had lived in since 1984. Prior to 2004 we operated an agricultural based business from the Presbytery

The Old Presbytery formally known as Scarthingwell Lodge prior to 1854 when the Maxwell Stuarts built the Catholic Church in Scarthingwell Park.
Barkston’s Ash tree was know as the Centre of the old Yorkshire Riding prior to the reorganization of the Yorkshire boundaries so we are very well suited to visit the whole of Yorkshire, Dales Moors and coast and should you not want to travel that far we have the ancient City of York and the shopping mega of Leeds both 14 miles, closer to hand we have the site of the bloodiest battle on English soil Towton, with information boards and a pleasant walk.
Good road access to M1 A1M and M62.
We have 4 guest rooms Double Single Family and a twin and a large lounge with separate breakfast room.
Outside we have a patio area with a bower for shade or smoking, (Strictly no Smoking within the house) a large herbaceous front garden, woodland with fishpond.
